21st Whitewater Rodeo went back to its roots
Back in June, the 21st Whitewater Rodeo took place and it was epic. Iconic Whistler businesses and adventuring locals came together and raised $40,000 for Zero Ceiling Society of Canada programs. This was enough to support two people in their Work 2 Live program for an entire year.
The Adventure Group (TAG), Wedge Rafting, Gibbons, and Good Fortune Collective pooled their expertise and experience to create a fun-filled, feel-good event for locals and kicked off the summer in style. There were costumes, raft flips, races and even sumo-wrestling, followed by a legendary, exclusive after party on Cougar Mountain with local DJs SkiiTour.
100% of the ticket sales were donated to Zero Ceiling, funding their programs for young people who have experienced homelessness from the Sea to Sky corridor and Vancouver.
Zero Ceiling’s Work 2 Live program provides housing, employment, support and outdoor adventure to those affected. All have faced significant challenges in their lives: many have been in government care, experienced poverty, unstable housing, and disruption in their lives. They’re looking for stability and opportunity, and that’s what the Work 2 Live program provides.
