Wedge Rafting’s Southern Rivers.

By | White Water Rafting | No Comments

30 minutes south of Whistler, just off the Highway 99 you’ll find the Paradise Valley – aptly named for it’s beautiful setting and home to our base camp for the Cheakamus and Elaho-Squamish River rafting tours.
The Cheakamus Centre is your arrival destination to get suited and booted before setting off on an exciting adventure with Wedge Rafting.

Which river suits you?

The Cheakamus River Float Trip is family friendly and leaves twice daily at 9:00 am and 2.30 pm. The Cheakamus River is known by our guides as the wildlife tour with regular sightings of bald eagles, deer and the odd black bear!
With a minimum age requirement of 6 years old; the Cheakamus River is suitable for young and old looking for a more scenic float.

Looking for something more wild? The Elaho-Squamish River gives you the chance to conquer 2 rivers in one day! Continuous class 3-4 rapids combined with over 3 hours on the water makes this day long adventure one for thrill-seekers. Enjoy both a river snack on your journey and a locally sourced BBQ lunch after you’ve dried off.

Why is late season the best season for Squamish’s Rivers?

The water levels on both rivers are still fantastic. The Elaho and Squamish Rivers are currently running at 180 cubic metres per second, that’s 180 tonnes or 180 baby elephants running per second!
The Cheakamus River is dam controlled which ensures a constant flow of class 1-2 rapids and right now is the perfect time to see thousands of salmon making their way up stream to spawn.

Meet us in Squamish at the Cheakamus Centre or let us drive you to the river from our Carleton Lodge location in Whistler Village.
